Slaughter - Live At The Hard Rock Cafe 1997 DVD & More (Island Exclusive):

It has been a while since we've heard anything from the band Slaughter. A few recent live show reviews can be found by goggling the band but nothing new as far as a release, until now. On May 8th the band will release "Live At The Hard Rock Cafe 1997" on DVD.

This DVD will feature songs: Reach for the Sky, Fly To The Angels, Up All Night (Sleep All Day), Out for Love, The Wild Life, Days Gone By , Dance for Me Baby, Move to the Music, Real Love, Shake This Place, Streets of Broken Hearts, Hold On, Do Ya Know, Old Man, Days Gone By, Music Video: Shout It Out (Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey).

The special features include: Tribute To Guitarist Tim Kelly, The Music Video For Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey & Photo Gallery.

The DVD is approximately 90 minutes in length and will be priced around $14.99.

Press Release Band Write Up:

In 1990, Slaughter hit radio, MTV and the U.S. touring circuit like a tornado- coming seemingly out of nowhere to roll through everything in its path and turn it upside down. Touring the world with bands that they loved, Kiss, Ozzy, and others meant the good times were just a song away, and their first hit single, on Chrysalis (EMI) Records entitled "Up All Night" certainly fit into that mold; their second chart-topper, "Fly To The Angels" was more representative of the spirituality and awareness that goes into most of the band's music and lyrics. But never were Slaughter more accurately represented than live onstage in front of their legions of devoted fans over the last ten years.

What Has Mark Been Up To?:

Mark Slaughter has been busy working on a film called "Thunder Over Reno." He is the musical supervisor who is responsible for conducting the original score.

REO Speedwagon - Title & Artwork Change:

What were we saying about REO at the beginning of February? The album needed new artwork? Well as fate would have it the band has officially announced that the artwork will in fact be changed as well as the album title. Below is the REO Newsletter that went out yesterday afternoon:

Okay, it is official, we have lost our minds. We have been here at Blue Moon 24/7 ever since we got home from the Super Bowl gig. We are putting the finishing touches on the Unplugged DVD to be included in the first run, three disc box set. It has turned into another very special project for us.

Getting back to having lost our minds...This past Friday it hit me that the album title and the artwork, which had been chosen for the new CD, was all wrong, and needed to be rethought. Keep in mind that we have to meet our final deadline of TOMORROW (28th)!

The whole upside down bird thing, and "Everyone Loves A Happy Ending", just never caught on. They didn't really represent this music and these songs well enough. It was just never quite right. So it needed to change. Yikes! Not much time to make all of that happen.

But we have done it.

This album is all about our journey over the past four years. It is about facing challenges, taking responsibility for our own choices, not taking the easy way out, (and having fun through it all).

Duuhh...the title of this album was meant to be "Find Your Own Way Home", and so it will be. The new artwork is almost ready...and we all love it. Too many of us were not satisfied with the dead bird/rainbow thing. It was the only aspect of the project that we were not united on.

Now we are in synch, the Brotherhood is one.

So forget "Everyone Loves A Happy Ending", that was simply a working title. Forget sleeping birds and rainbows. Within the next few days the artwork for "Find Your Own Way Home" will be posted on this site, as well as at speedwagon.com.

We have indeed finally found our own way home. It has been quite a trip, and we will be ready to share it with you guys real soon.

"Find Your Own Way Home" will be available at Wal Mart on April 3.

Keep Pushin',
KC

Metal Mania Stripped Vol. 3 (Press Release) & Follow-up:

We were the first to mention this upcoming release, show you the artwork and share the track list. Now we are happy to announce that you can preview 4 of the tracks that will be on Volume 3 by visiting the Metal Mania Stripped MySpace page. Songs "High Enough," "Way Cool Jr," "Heaven" & "Headed For A Heartbreak" can all be streamed in their entirety's.

Metal fans have spoken, so get ready to turn the volume up to "11" as Sidewinder Music and VH1 Classic Records will be releasing VH1 Classic Metal Mania Stripped Volume 3, on Tuesday, March 6th.

The new CD release will once again feature rare and never before heard
acoustic versions of some of metal's greatest songs by some of the genre's
biggest names.

This is the fourth release in the successful Stripped series (Volume I:
The Ballads and Volume 2: The Anthems, along with the Metal Mania Stripped
Across America Live! DVD).

Just like the others that preceded it, Metal Mania Stripped Volume 3 is
another acoustic collection of some of metal's biggest hits, all of which
have proudly stood the test of time.

All in all, fifteen unforgettable tracks, ten of which have never been
heard before!

Those returning to the Stripped series with an appearance on Volume 3
include such artists as Poison, Queensryche, Tesla, Slaughter, Dokken and
Firehouse along with Tom Kiefer of Cinderella, Jani Lane (former lead
singer and songwriter of Warrant) and Winger.

New artists to the Metal Mania "scene" include Accept, Autograph, Kix,
Eric Martin from Mr. Big, RATT and Shaw*Blades. The latter duo, featuring
Tommy Shaw of Styx and Jack Blades of Night Ranger fame, come at you full
force with an entirely new unplugged version of "High Enough," a huge hit
song (reaching #3 on the Billboard charts) from their collaboration in the
super group Damn Yankees.

Other well-known hits on the forthcoming Metal Mania Stripped Volume 3
disc include Cinderella's "Nobody's Fool" (the premiere power balled from
their '86 release, Night Songs), Tesla's "Signs" (their 1991 remake of the
early 70's hit from the Five Man Electrical Band), Firehouse's "When I Look
Into Your Eyes" (a Top Ten single spawned from their sophomore effort, Hold
Your Fire), Slaughter's "Up All Night" (a Top 40 single from their 1990
debut album, Stick It To Ya, recorded at the Key Club in Los Angeles),
Warrant's "Heaven" (an unexpected smash hit from '89's Dirty Rotten Filthy
Stinking Rich that reached #2 on the singles charts) performed by original
Warrant lead vocalist Jani Lane, and "Don't Close Your Eyes," the
breakthrough power ballad for Kix that would hit #11 on the Billboard
charts.

Tesla's "Signs" practically launched the "unplugged" movement as it was
one of the first acoustic hits of the 90's. "'Signs' will always be one of
my all-time favorites," states Tesla's lead singer, Jeff Keith. "It has
such a powerful message that a lot of people can relate to, including
myself. Even stripped down to acoustic guitars, this one still comes out a
winner."

In addition to those tracks, other hits performed acoustically include
"Balls to the Wall" (Accept), "In My Dreams" (Dokken), "Just Take My Heart"
(performed by Eric Martin of Mr. Big), "Turn Up The Radio" (Autograph) and
Winger's "Headed for a Heartbreak," along with three previously unreleased
MTV Unplugged recordings by Poison ("Unskinny Bop"), Queensryche ("The
Killing Words") and RATT ("Way Cool Jr.").

Although original RATT vocalist Stephen Pearcy provided an acoustic
rendition of "Round and Round" for Metal Mania Stripped Volume 2: The
Anthems, he's featured with his RATT band mates -- Warren DeMartini, Juan
Croucier and Bobby Blotzer -- for an acoustic version of the band's hit,
"Way Cool Jr.," from MTV Unplugged. "I remember messing with the idea for 'Way Cool Jr.,' as RATT were in a very grueling situation for that record," remembers Pearcy. "I liked the idea and the whole swing element about the song. So Warren and I started talking about who is "Way Cool" and what does he like to groove to... The end result surprised us and it came out great! Thoroughly nasty with a
great groove. It's been a fan favorite in concert ever since it came out...
The tune simply rocks unplugged, which is why we included it in our MTV
Unplugged set... We're glad it's being released on the Metal Mania CD for
all RATT fans to enjoy.

VH1 Classic Metal Mania Stripped Volume 3 promises to rock metal
maniacs everywhere!

Tom Morello Is.... (Press Release):

On Tom Morello's Solo debut as The Nightwatchman, songs of bitterness and revenge are a dark response to a world in turmoil.

The album "One Man Revolution" will be available April 24th on Epic Records with a tour starting this spring.

The Nightwatchman is Tom Morello.

Musician and political and social activist Tom Morello's stark new album as The Nightwatchman, 'One Man Revolution,' (April 24, Epic Records) is a dark, urgent portrait of a world in turmoil, 13 songs of "bitterness and revenge." Morello, the Grammy Award-winning guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, compares war zones in the US and Iraq, proclaims that Jesus was black and pinpoints the sociopolitical struggles of the American leftist underground in the series of self-penned originals, singing and playingacoustic guitar for the first time on record.

'One Man Revolution' was produced by Brendan O'Brien, who has worked with Morello on Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave albums. O'Brien also produced Bruce Springsteen's 'The Rising' and 'Devils & Dust,' as well as albums by Pearl Jam and Incubus. The Nightwatchman is planning an extensive spring tour, including appearances at South By Southwest in March and the Coachella Festival in April.

Morello has performed as The Nightwatchman for four years at political events and on 2003's Tell Us the Truth tour. He has presided over a Hotel Café residency in LA since November, which has featured many of his musical cohorts including Serj Tankian, Perry Farrell, Shooter Jennings, Nuno Bettencourt, Queen V, Sen-Dog from Cypress Hill, Jill Sobule, Boots Riley of The Coup, Alexi Murdoch, Jon Foreman from Switchfoot, Wayne Kramer from MC5 and others. The Tuesday night residency wraps up February 6,but the shows will resume later in the spring.

As a producer, Morello has worked with artists as diverse as Puff Daddy, The Indigo Girls, Joe Strummer, KRS-1, Wu Tang Clan, Crystal Method and Anti-Flag. He has also scored movies such as "Collateral," "Charlie's Angels," "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," and "XXX: State of the Union." With his bands Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, Morello has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won two Grammys. He was named #26 of Rolling Stone magazine's "100 Greatest Guitar Players."

Morello also formed the non-profit Axis of Justice with Serj Tankian of System of a Down to bring together musicians, fans of music, and grassroots political organizations to fight for social justice.

Love In October - Words Of Sound (EP):

The main reason we started this website as we've said many times is simply to share music and have a goodtime doing so. We are known for finding bands that many have not heard of and mentioning them on this website in hopes that others will enjoy what they have to offer. This is just the case with the band Love In October, while many on MySpace and those in Minnesota have heard of them we wanted to mention them here. Released today is their EP entitled "Words Of Sound," a collection of 6 pop rock tunes. There are 2 ways to purchase this EP, visiting their website store or iTunes. Press Release and links below,

Like a story from the silver screen, it is not often you hear about two brothers traveling halfway around the world, leaving their family and friends, to fulfill a common dream. In the summer of 2006, this fairytale began in Minneapolis, Minnesota when the Swedish Widman brothers traveled across the ocean, fused their Swedish pop with Midwestern indie-rock, and created Love in October. Fans describe LiO as "Motion City Soundtrack meets Ok Go." Their sound is highlighted by aggressive drums and melodic pop hooks, but most notably Erik's versatile voice. Beyond the music, Love in October's unconventional style can only be defined as eclectic, with live shows containing not only music, but also hilarious improv Broadway theater skits and occasional retro dance moves.

In November 2006, they recorded with maverick indie-rock producer Ed Rose (Motion City Soundtrack, The Get Up Kids, Puddle of Mud) at Black Lodge Recording Studio in Kansas to create their debut EP, Words of Sound, out February 27th. The EP is vignettes from everyday life captured in music. In the EP title track, Erik sings "I'll write this down in words of sound, and sing a photograph of who we are". From the fast melodic hit "A Day in the Life Of" to the melodramatic and epic ballad "Don't Ask Me," Love in October shows sincerity and unique maturity in their sound. The quartet's imaginative style makes them one of the most exciting bands to hit the Midwest in recent years. Be sure to catch them on the Words of Sound tour this February!

1. A Day in the Life Of
2. Method to Madness
3. Hollywood Horror
4. Words of Sound
5. Don't Ask Me
6. 1000 Miles From Here

The EP is currently priced around $5.00 on both their online store and iTunes. Audio clips are available via iTunes/MySpace & Purevolume.

Tidbits listed below which pertain to GNR & Slash.

The Corrs - Dreams: The Ultimate Corrs Collection (Press Release):
The Corrs family -- vocalist Andrea, drummer Caroline, violinist Sharon and guitarist/keyboardist Jim -- have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide mixing music from their Irish background with contemporary pop and rock. Rhino Records packs together 15 years of The Corrs' best in a career-spanning collection featuring five UK Top 10 hits and the #1 smash single "Breathless."

Spanning 1996 to 2006, the collection contains 20 of the Dundalk-born quartet's finest and features 13 songs not on the group's previous "best of" including the hit singles "Summer Sunshine," "Angel," "I Know My Love" and a new mix of "Goodbye" by Brian Rawlings. And as an album exclusive, DREAMS includes the debut of "All I Have To Do Is Dream," a track The Corrs recorded with renowned French singer and composer Laurent Voulzy.

Spotlighting The Corrs' memorable collaborations, DREAMS includes a pair of live cuts from 2002 with U2's Bono joining the group for the Ryan Adams-penned track "When The Stars Go Blue," and guitarist Ron Wood turning up on The Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday." The album also contains the Corrs' and The Chieftains' rendition of the traditional song "I Know My Love," a track originally released on The Chieftains' 1999 album, Tears Of Stone.

Along with a new mix of "Goodbye," DREAMS also features several remixes of fan favorites including Tee's Radio Mix of "Dreams," K-Klass' remix of "So Young" and the Tin Tin Out Remix of "What Can I Do" -- the original versions of all three songs appeared on 1999's Talk On Corners, the band's best-selling album.

Filled with a decade's worth of hits, DREAMS is a testament to The Corrs' enduring popularity and touches on all five of the group's studio albums as well as the live collections Corrs Unplugged and VH1 Presents The Corrs: Live In Dublin. This disc will hit stores on March 13th, 2007.

Black Sabbath - The Dio Years (Press Release):
Together for a short but memorable time -- a trio of studio albums, a classic live album, and a couple of tours -- the second coming of Black Sabbath began in 1979 when founding members Tony Iommi and Terry "Geezer" Butler were joined by Ronnie James Dio. The former singer of Elf (and later Rainbow and Dio) added his fiery, demonic howl to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group's crushing mix of iconic riffs, gloomy grooves and doom-soaked imagery.

In late 2006 Dio, Iommi and Butler, joined by drummer Vinny Appice, reunited to record three new songs for Rhino Records' era-spanning collection, BLACK SABBATH: THE DIO YEARS. These recording sessions went so well that the quartet -- billed as Heaven And Hell -- will launch a highly anticipated world tour this spring. The group will play a dozen dates in Canada in March before taking the stage of the famed Radio City Music Hall in New York City on March 30 to play their only U.S. date until the band launches a full tour of the States later this year.

The first comprehensive introduction to the band's legacy, BLACK SABBATH: THE DIO YEARS features a dozen classic studio recordings, plus one live track -- "Children Of The Sea" from 1982's Live Evil. The collection also contains the three brand-new tracks -- "The Devil Cried," "Shadow Of The Wind," and "Ear In The Wall."

Arranged chronologically, the compilation spotlights Dio's time with Black Sabbath and draws heavily from the lineup's 1980 debut and 1981 follow-up, Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules respectively. Recognized as back-to-back metal classics, the albums feature such signature songs as the title tracks, "Neon Knights," "Die Young," "Turn Up The Night" and "Voodoo." THE DIO YEARS also features "After All (The Dead)," "TV Crimes" and "I" from the singer's brief reunion with Sabbath for the Dehumanizer album and tour. This disc will hit stores on April 3rd, 2007.

On May 1, Rhino Handmade will release BLACK SABBATTH: LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH ODEON, which features Dio, Iommi, Butler and Appice getting hot one December night in London during Sabbath's 1981 tour for The Mob Rules. Previously unreleased, the concert spotlights Sabbath as they storm through 14 of the Dio-era's best including "Neon Knights," "Heaven And Hell," "Children Of The Sea" and "Country Girl." The band also performs several pre-Dio classics including "Paranoid," "Children Of The Grave" and a white-hot version of "War Pigs." The album will be available from Rhino Handmade as an individually numbered limited edition of 5,000 copies, available only at www.rhinohandmade.com.

Queensryche - Mindcrime At The Moore CD/DVD:
Some new information on the upcoming "Mindcrime at the Moore" live discs. There will be two versions, a 2 CD disc sets and a 2 DVD disc set. I think the track listing is pretty obvious (for the most part). Aside from Operation: Mindcrime I & II there will be some bonus material ... encores, and what not. Still lots more to come, www.queensryche.com/news/

Van Halen Stalled, Roth Re-Releases (Island Report):
It was on the news yesterday morning, it has been on many websites across the internet but we have to at least mention it here. Thanks to our friends at Live Daily you can read their great write-up about how the Van Halen tour '07 has stalled: www.livedaily.com/news

Now for the really fun news for all those Roth fans out there. Both Billboard and Friday Music are reporting this story and thus we will do the same:

On April 3, 2007 Friday Music will be re-releasing three much sought after classic recordings from the legendary David Lee Roth Warner Brothers catalog:

A Little Ain’t Enough ( FRM 1054) Your Filthy Little Mouth (FRM 1055) and the highly collectable Sonrisa Salvaje ( FRM 1053) ( Eat ‘Em and Smile sung in Spanish) All three albums have been re-mastered by Joe Reagoso, and each compact disc comes complete with the original graphics and artwork keeping the integrity and spirit of the original releases.

Sonrisa Salvaje is receiving its first ever release on compact disc, making this highly anticipated Roth album finally available to his fans. Originally released in 1986 for a very short time on vinyl, this much coveted collector’s item has fetched high dollars at auctions over the years. David Lee Roth gives a great performance along with his band at the time, Steve Vai ( guitars), Billy Sheehan ( bass) and Gregg Bissonette (drums) This collectors dream features ten rocking Spanish versions of classic’s like Loco Del Calor! ( Goin’ Crazy), Yankee Rose, and En Busca De Pleito ( Big Trouble)

Often regarded as one of his most defining hard rock moments, his platinum plus A Little Ain’t Enough features twelve incredible tracks produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue). Lynam Invades The West Coast (Press Release):
DRT Entertainment Recording artists Lynam is heading out to California for a string of shows in April. This will be the first time Lynam has played California since November while touring with Hinder. Lynam's Debut album for DRT Entertainment "Slave To The Machine" released July to strong reviews, and "Tanis", the first single reached the top of the radio charts on both Active Rock Independent and Mainstream Rock Independent.

Lynam built their fan base the old-fashioned way...on the road. For the last three years the band has toured in support of their independently-released albums White Trash Superstar, Bling Bling and Life In Reverse, winning over fans throughout the southeast. The band built such a buzz that a local radio station began playing the track, “Disco King” off of Bling Bling and the song became the most requested track in the station’s history. Soon after, they caught the attention of 20th Century Fox and the studio licensed the track, “The Party Starts Now” from White Trash Superstar for the marketing of their movie Catch That Kid.
