"Awakening" Video

Switchfoot - Band Release
April.11th.2007 - Wednesday

I can finally say that our new video for our new single, "Awakening," is done and ready for your happy consumption. We really love this song, and we're glad that many of you do as well. I'm proud to say that this new video is one of our favorites! I hope you dig it as much as we do...

The concept of the video:
The traditional concept of a music video can be a bit surreal, lip-synching to your own songs can feel especially comical at times! With this irony in mind we wanted to make a video that doesn't take itself too seriously, even if the song itself is dealing with weighty issues... to make a music video that tells a different story than the song is already telling us. The song exists in a space entirely on its own, and nothing will ever add or subtract from what the song already is- why not use the video as a vehicle to go somewhere new? Somewhere that the song hasn't already been on it's own? So here, my friends, is an attempt to do just that.

The making of the video:
We had a lot of fun making this video. We actually made this video on our own dime, with our talented good friend Brandon Dickerson, who made two of our earlier videos. We also had the incredible opportunity of working with three extremely talented and funny actors: Tony Hale (Stranger than Fiction, Arrested Development), Adam Campbell (Epic Movie), and Jayma Mays (Heroes). The most challenging and time-consuming portion of the video was the creating of the "animated" television. To create this effect, we printed out each individual frame (24 frames per second -- that's a lot of frames!), and then hand-ripped each person from each frame, placing each frame sequentially after the other to re-create the action (think claymation with photos!). This technique has actually never been done before, and took a total of 8 days, with 10 to 20 people working around the clock (some of you even stopped by to help out!).

Thank you for singing along, -tim

DRM Free, Microsoft?

www.windowsitpro.com

Lost amid the hoopla last week over EMI's announcement that it will sell digital music without Digital Rights Management (DRM) restrictions was the fact that Apple wasn't the only online music service to sign on for the DRM-free music offerings. This week, Microsoft also admitted that it will offer music without DRM.

"The EMI announcement is not exclusive to Apple," a Microsoft spokesperson said. "Consumers have made it clear that unprotected music is something they want. We plan on offering it to them as soon as our label partners are comfortable with it." Microsoft said that it has been working with EMI and other record labels for quite some time, and will offer DRM-free music as soon as possible via the Zune Marketplace, Microsoft's online service for the Zune.

What's unclear is which file format Microsoft will choose to sell its music in. Apple will sell DRM-free music in the Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format, which has serious compatibility problems with non-Apple hardware. Microsoft currently sells music on the Zune Marketplace in the Windows Media Audio (WMA) format, which suggests that the company will continue to do so when DRM is no longer required. However, EMI said that online music services can use whatever format they'd like, including the industry-standard MP3 format, which is the most interoperable format.

If Microsoft would like to one-up Apple--and I'm guessing that the software giant would--it should use the MP3 format. Doing so would be a great way to ensure that the more expensive and consortium-owned AAC format doesn't become the de facto standard.

SoulCrusher Music Video

Operator - Press Release
April.5th.2007 - Thursday

Lots of hard rock bands channel insecurity and pessimism into songs that spit and roar about the unfairness of it all. Operator takes the opposite approach. Fronted by consummate performer, multi-instrumentalist, mixed martial arts fighter, gunslinger, and all around modern renaissance man Johnny Strong, Operator is all about believing in yourself, embracing the moment and making the impossible happen.

A soldier of self-empowerment, Strong speaks with a commanding voice that rings loudly throughout Soulcrusher, Operator's major label debut. A triumphant album in the spirit of some of Strong's favorite artists - Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Guns N' Roses - Soulcrusher pays homage to the past, but maintains a spirit and philosophy that transcends its influences. More than anything, the disc is an inspirational reality slap, a high five to those who make the most out of life, and a dire warning to anyone who lacks the courage to follow their dreams. The band features Paul James Phillips (ex-Puddle of Mudd) on guitar.

Johnny chose the band's name from a documentary he saw about the downing of a helicopter in Mogadishu, a story that was later turned into Ridley Scott's film "Black Hawk Down," in which Strong played a Delta Operator.

Be prepared for more Operator in the near future as the album SOULCRUSHER drops into stores July 3rd.

You can view the band's new music video by visiting their MySpace page: www.myspace.com/operatormusic

* The music video contains adult content, viewer discretion is advised.

The reason we posted this information is that  the song is top notch, very old school rock in delivery and two the production of the video is extremely high quality. The adult content wasn't exactly needed though. Please be aware that this video is NOT "kid or work friendly."

Great White Signs

Frontiers - Press Release/Email/Newsletter

Frontiers Records is proud to announce the signing of GREAT WHITE for the release of the band's forthcoming 25th Anniversary / Reunion all-original studio album in august 2007 !

The Southern California blues-rock band first took a bite out of the rock scene in 1984 and since then has achieved worldwide success, encompassing sales of over six million records. They received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and earned a double platinum certification for the album ".Twice Shy".

The soulful, blues-based signature sound that turned songs like "Face The Day", "Rock Me" and "Save Your Love" into international hits, can also be found on the new songs which are currently being mixed by the band's keyboard player Michael Lardie.

"I don't feel it's a record where we have tried to reinvent ourselves", says guitar player Mark Kendall, "It's like everything you have liked or disliked over our entire career rolled into 1 record and then some. But everyone has grown musically and I think that will show through".

The - still untitled - new album, is the first all original in 8 years and was recorded in just three weeks during March '07. The process was very spontaneous. According to drummer Audie Desbrow: "The recording experience was a blast. We had a lot of fun doing this one", while Michael Lardie adds: "The one thing I wanted to make sure of, was that FUN was the signpost for every bit of recording we did, no stress, loose, upbeat, mission accomplished! Egos have been checked at the door and decisions are made as to what is best for each song".

Bassist Sean McNabb comments: "I think we had creative control on this one and everyone got to give ideas, that made it a band thing".

Michael Lardie concludes: "The new songs sound fresh to me, very Great White but with an approach of what we sound like in a live performance situation. Kendall and I are having fun channeling our Stones roots and playing off each other in the Richards/Woods tradition".

Great White has been churning out memorable songs since the early 80's, when singer Jack Russell and guitarist Mark Kendall joined forces and adopted a blues-based sound that went against the era's glam rock grain. Their independently released EP "Out of the Night" sold 20,000 copies and brought Great White to sign a deal with EMI America, which issued the eponymous "Great White" in 1984.

"Shot in the Dark", their follow-up independent release, marked the arrival of drummer Audie Desbrow. By the time Capitol Records signed the band and reissued "Shot in the Dark", keyboardist-guitarist Michael Lardie had come aboard. Great White then hit the road with Dokken and was on the verge of even bigger success. The 1987 follow-up "Once Bitten.", which featured the hit tracks "Rock Me", "Lady Red Light", and "Save Your Love", went platinum. Their next album ".Twice Shy", which featured the Top 5 hit "Once Bitten, Twice Shy", more than doubled that tally.

The late 80's were boom years for the band, marked by non-stop touring with some of the biggest bands of the era and playing also in Europe and Japan. Great White recorded two more albums for Capitol - "Hooked", which was certified gold and "Psycho City".

Although Capitol issued a Best Of compilation in 1993, Great White had already departed the label to begin work on their next studio release, "Sail Away", released on Zoo Records in 1994 supporting it with relentless touring. Their next release, "Let It Rock" in 1996.

Great White then signed with Portrait Records, an imprint founded by A&R guru John Kalodner that featured fellow hard rock acts such as Ratt. "Can't Get There from Here" was released in 1999 and is the band's last studio opus thus far.

Frontiers Records plans to release the newest album at the end of August 2007. More details will be released at a later stage.

Poison'D

New Poison Album & Tour - Press Release
April.4th.2007 - Wednesday

Poison, one of rock's most iconic and enduring bands, has recorded a new album of cover songs, featuring many of their favorite rock classics. POISON'D, the band's first new studio album since 2002, will be released June 5 on CD and digitally by EMI America Records/Capitol.

Featuring Poison's original members, Bret Michaels (vocals), C.C. DeVille (guitar), Rikki Rockett (drums) and Bobby Dall (bass), POISON'D presents the band's first new studio recordings since 2002's Hollyweird. Produced by Don Was at Hensen Recording Studios in Hollywood, POISON'D packs 13 explosive tracks, including new recordings of David Bowie's "Suffragette City," The Cars' "You're Just What I Needed," The Romantics' "What I Like About You," Sweet's "Little Willy," The Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See" and The Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers." Some of Poison's best previously recorded covers are also featured on POISON'D, including KISS' "Rock and Roll All Nite," Grand Funk Railroad's "We're An American Band" and Loggins and Messina's "Your Mama Don't Dance."

"Poison is one of the greatest rock 'n roll bands in the world and, after 20 years, they can slam better than ever," says POISON'D producer Don Was. "They're powerful musicians and very cool guys. We had a lot of fun making this album and I think you can hear it in the grooves -- it's got the jive and is truly alive! I urge everyone to listen to it!"

Following the release of POISON'D, Poison will hit the road again on June 12 for a major North American summer concert tour. Tour dates and details will be announced and posted to the band's official website as they are confirmed. Visit www.poisonweb.com and www.myspace.com/poison for the latest Poison news and links to other Poison-related websites.

In July, VH1 will premiere a new reality show, "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels." VH1's description of the show has "the hard-rockin' Poison front man looking for a woman who can truly keep up with his rock-n-roll lifestyle and not become jealous of his one true passion -- performing, which has been the reason for and destruction of most of his relationships."

In 1986, Poison released their debut album, Look What the Cat Dragged In. After years of hard work, touring and controversy, radio and MTV finally took notice of the band and their music, propelling Poison into superstardom. Look What the Cat Dragged In peaked at #3 on the Billboard album charts, charted three singles and sold more than four million copies.

The band's 1988 follow-up, Open Up and Say ... Ahh! went Platinum two weeks after its release. The single "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" hit #1 on Billboard's Singles chart and the album sold more than seven million units. 1990's Flesh & Blood featured a second Gold single, "Unskinny Bop," and the album went multi-Platinum.

In 1991, amidst inner fighting, alcohol, drug abuse and road stories that would make a porn star blush, guitarist C.C. Deville and singer Bret Michaels collided in an all out fist-fight seconds after leaving the stage of the MTV Music Video Awards (right between Cindy Crawford's high heels and Eddie Van Halen's sneakers). C.C. Deville left the band.

Poison continued to tour arenas and amphitheatres and recorded the Platinum Native Tongue and Crack A Smile. After five years of not speaking, Michaels and Deville met up in 1999 and, with their chemistry and friendship quickly rekindled, the band went into the studio to record Power To The People. One of the most successful reunion tours of all time followed the album's release.

Last April, Poison rocketed into the Billboard Top 20 with the #17 debut of the band's 20th anniversary hits collection, The Best Of Poison: 20 Years Of Rock (Capitol/EMI). The 18-track hits collection was soon certified gold, and Poison tore through the summer of 2006 on their highly successful "20 Years of Rock" North American concert tour. To date, Poison has sold more than 25 million records and DVDs worldwide.

Ten Years After Winterland - San Francisco CA. 04/30/1971

Wolfgang's Vault

Almost two years after the Woodstock appearance that effectively put them on the map, Ten Years After headlined an old ice skating rink called Winterland. Always a favorite of Bill Graham, Alvin Lee and his British quartet showcased a set of blues-rock that was progressively headed in a more mainstream direction. This is most evident on their commercial success, A Space In Time, which was released the same year as this show and contained the ubiquitous hit single, "I'd Love To Change The World."

Phobia Collector's Edition

Breaking Benjamin - Press Release / Island Additions
April.3rd.2007 - Tuesday

Fresh off the success of Phobia, Breaking Benjamin and Hollywood Records are taking fan requests to heart and are set to release Phobia -- Collector's Edition on April 17, 2007. Phobia -- Collector's Edition contains all the tracks from the standard CD, with a premium bonus: the band's first-ever concert DVD featuring a live, hour-plus-long concert filmed in front of a sold-out hometown crowd. In addition, the set contains an acoustic version of the hit single "The Diary of Jane." All this content will be packaged in a new foil slip-case featuring kaleidoscopic, 3-D album art.

In February of 2006, in the midst of a cross-country trek, Breaking Benjamin performed in front of a fanatical audience at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem. The band's triumphant return to their home state of Pennsylvania was captured on film both for an hour-long concert event for HDnet TV and the Phobia -- Collector's Edition DVD. The alt-rockers performed songs from their platinum album We Are Not Alone, in addition to their recent certified-gold release Phobia and their debut album Saturate.

Breaking Benjamin's third CD Phobia, released August 8, 2006, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The CD has since spawned two hit singles which propelled the album to certified gold status. The album's debut single "The Diary of Jane" was a Top Five smash at three formats -- Alternative, Active Rock and Rock. Their second single, the intense "Breath," is currently the #1 at the Active Rock and #5 at Modern Rock. "Breath" is currently in play at over 100 US radio stations with an audience of over 14 million.

Billboard states, "['Breath'] trades off the harder slam of 'Jane' for a solid midtempo pace that peaks with another of the band's climatic choruses, which are always tight and catchy. Fans have already pushed Phobia to gold, so we predict this rocker will keep fueling the drive to a platinum finish."

The band will bring "Breath," "The Diary of Jane" and other hits to the live stage when they begin an eight week summer tour of the U.S. with Three Days Grace on May 11th.

EMI Music Launches DRM-free Downloads

Not Free Music, Copy Protection Has Been Removed - Press Release

London, 2 April 2007 -- EMI Music today announced that it is launching new premium downloads for retail on a global basis, making all of its digital repertoire available at a much higher sound quality than existing downloads and free of digital rights management (DRM) restrictions.

The new higher quality DRM-free music will complement EMI's existing range of standard DRM-protected downloads already available. From today, EMI's retailers will be offered downloads of tracks and albums in the DRM-free audio format of their choice in a variety of bit rates up to CD quality. EMI is releasing the premium downloads in response to consumer demand for high fidelity digital music for use on home music systems, mobile phones and digital music players. EMI's new DRM-free products will enable full interoperability of digital music across all devices and platforms.

Eric Nicoli, CEO of EMI Group, said, "Our goal is to give consumers the best possible digital music experience. By providing DRM-free downloads, we aim to address the lack of interoperability which is frustrating for many music fans. We believe that offering consumers the opportunity to buy higher quality tracks and listen to them on the device or platform of their choice will boost sales of digital music.

"Apple have been a true pioneer in digital music, and we are delighted that they share our vision of an interoperable market that provides consumers with greater choice, quality, convenience and value for money."

"Selling digital music DRM-free is the right step forward for the music industry," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "EMI has been a great partner for iTunes and is once again leading the industry as the first major music company to offer its entire digital catalogue DRM-free."

Apple's iTunes Store (www.itunes.com) is the first online music store to receive EMI's new premium downloads. Apple has announced that iTunes will make individual AAC format tracks available from EMI artists at twice the sound quality of existing downloads, with their DRM removed, at a price of $1.29/€1.29/£0.99. iTunes will continue to offer consumers the ability to pay $0.99/€0.99/£0.79 for standard sound quality tracks with DRM still applied. Complete albums from EMI Music artists purchased on the iTunes Store will automatically be sold at the higher sound quality and DRM-free, with no change in the price. Consumers who have already purchased standard tracks or albums with DRM will be able to upgrade their digital music for $0.30/€0.30/£0.20 per track. All EMI music videos will also be available on the iTunes Store DRM-free with no change in price.

EMI is introducing a new wholesale price for premium single track downloads, while maintaining the existing wholesale price for complete albums. EMI expects that consumers will be able to purchase higher quality DRM-free downloads from a variety of digital music stores within the coming weeks, with each retailer choosing whether to sell downloads in AAC, WMA, MP3 or other unprotected formats of their choice. Music fans will be able to purchase higher quality DRM-free digital music for personal use, and listen to it on a wide range of digital music players and music-enabled phones.

EMI's move follows a series of experiments it conducted recently. Norah Jones's "Thinking About You", Relient K's "Must've Done Something Right", and Lily Allen's "Littlest Things" were all made available for sale in the MP3 format in trials held at the end of last year.

EMI Music will continue to employ DRM as appropriate to enable innovative digital models such as subscription services (where users pay a monthly fee for unlimited access to music), super-distribution (allowing fans to share music with their friends) and time-limited downloads (such as those offered by ad-supported services).

Nicoli added: "Protecting the intellectual property of EMI and our artists is as important as ever, and we will continue to work to fight piracy in all its forms and to educate consumers. We believe that fans will be excited by the flexibility that DRM-free formats provide, and will see this as an incentive to purchase more of our artists' music."

Tour And Album (Libertad)

Velvet Revolver - www.velvetrevolver.com & Email

We mad mention of Velvet's upcoming album many times over the past 6 months. From the changes in the producers seat to delays and even conflict. After it all, fans have finally been given word that a tour and new disc are in fact coming very soon.

Hard rocking supergroup Velvet Revolver, consisting of former members of Guns N’ Roses along with Stone Temple Pilots‘ frontman Scott Weiland and Wasted Youth’s Dave Kushner, are putting the finishing touches on a new release, Libertad, and have been busy scheduling dates for the spring and summer in support of the album.

The band will launch their live assault with a six-date swing through South America beginning April 10 at the Pista Atletica in Santiago, Chile and wrapping up April 20 at Parque Metropolitano Simon Bolivar in Bogota, Columbia.

Next up is the 11-city U.S. leg of the tour, which kicks off May 4 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA, and will make stops at a number of hot clubs and theatres around the country including San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre, Chicago’s Riviera Theatre and the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., before finishing off May 22 at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York.

In June, the band will head to Europe for 17 dates with heavy emphasis on festival appearances including Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring in Germany, Sweden’s Hultsfred Festival, Fields Of Rock in the Netherlands and Monsters Of Rock in Spain.

Libertad, scheduled for release in June, is the follow-up to VR’s Grammy winning 2004 debut, Contraband. The band originally planned to record the album with producer Rick Rubin, but when that fell through, frontman Scott Weiland tapped Brendan O’Brien and the band began working on the album last December.

Building 429 - Iris To Iris

New Studio Album

“If ‘Glory Defined’ had an entire album recorded to compliment the quality of that song, it would be this album.

“Iris To Iris, the new Building 429 album is not one good song or two good songs, but 11 great compositions that make a thoroughly satisfying listening experience. These guys have stepped up to the plate with a wonderful record and a major shift towards accessibility and ministry in the direction of their music.

“It is my hope and belief that this album, Iris To Iris, will put Building 429 in the consciousness of a much broader audience, primarily because of the quality of the songs, and accessibility of the music. I am not trying to hype this, I just believe in these guys and this project. It has blessed me, and I hope it blesses you.” -- Brown Bannister, Producer

Dove award-winning Building 429 returns with a brand new album full of their familiar style of introspective, worshipful lyrics and anthemic pop/rock songs that made “Glory Defined” a #1 hit. New songs born out of intimate times of prayer, like “You Carried Me,” “Majesty” and “Power Of Your Name,” are bound to find a place in modern worship settings as well as the hearts of Building 429 fans everywhere.

Release: May 1st, 2007

Track Listing:

1. Power Of Your Name
2. You Carried Me
3. Majesty
4. Singing Over Me
5. Incredible
6. Taken
7. Waiting To Shine
8. New Season
9. Constant
10. Amazed
11. Grace That Is Greater

Building 429 just happens to be one of those bands on the edge. What do I mean? Some people are going to be instantly put off by the fact that this is a "Christian" band. Will the material come off to preachy? There's always questions when it comes to bands that sit on the edge of full blown Rock. I was really looking forward to their last disc "Rise" which was released in 2006. I did like that album except that it felt a tad bit incomplete and some of the material came off a little to "preachy." Now this new disc hopefully contains enough "Rock" material to keep their core-fans entertained and allow new music listeners to give them a chance. The song "You Carried Me" can be heard via their website. The production alone has caught the attention of many music fans around the world.

You can pre-order the album via http://media.wordlabelgroup.com/429/presale/, by doing so you will receive an autographed CD booklet. Audio clips of all the new songs can be found on the same page.

About The Honorees:

Sammy Hagar

"The reason I got into this wasn't to be a rock star or be a billionaire, it was just to play music," Sammy Hagar recalled to Rolling Stone in 2000. That unpretentious spirit has carried Hagar through a colorful three-decade recording career that has established him as one of America's most beloved hard rockers. From his trailblazing early work with Montrose to his prolific and popular solo career to his massively successful time with Van Halen, and currently as front man for his band Sammy Hagar And The Wabos, the veteran singer/guitarist has continued to make melodic, hard-charging rock that's long on punch and personality. Hagar led Van Halen to four No. 1 albums, including a GRAMMY Award for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal in 1991. Hagar's numerous hits, platinum-records, and memorable songs include "I Can't Drive 55," and "Mas Tequila," a song that refers to his own brand of tequila, Cabo Wabo. In 2007, the Red Rocker was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside his fellow Van Halen band members, and will continue to perform, record and build his business.

Linda Perry

Two-time GRAMMY-nominated songwriter/producer Linda Perry is known for "bringing the artist out of the pop vocalist" and helping build the success of singers such as Christina Aguilera, P!nk and Gwen Stefani. Perry's songwriting and production on P!nk's second album, the 10 million-plus selling double GRAMMY-nominated M!ssundaztood, made the industry take notice. The songs she penned and produced on Christina Aguilera's Stripped included the GRAMMY Award-winning song "Beautiful" (Best Female Vocal Performance). In 2006, Perry co-wrote and produced nine songs for Aguilera's GRAMMY Award-winning Back To Basics album. She formed Custard Records and signed British artist James Blunt to her label, producing the song "No Bravery" on the five-time GRAMMY-nominated album Back To Bedlam. Perry began her career in San Francisco as a singer/songwriter with former Interscope Recording artists 4 Non Blondes. Their early 90's mega-hit "What's Up," catapulted the band to international success and helped their album, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, sell 7 million copies worldwide. Perry's early career involved touring with the Who, Aerosmith, Prince, Neil Young, and Pearl Jam. Her career also involves singing a duet with Roger Daltry at Carnegie Hall as well a duet with Grace Slick on her solo record for Interscope, In Flight. She is currently in the studio with Alicia Keys working on material for her new record, and continues to develop artists on Custard Records as well as write songs and produce.

Narada Michael Walden

Three-time GRAMMY Award winner Narada Michael Walden is a gifted songwriter, drummer, vocalist and producer who has worked with artists as diverse as Aretha Franklin and Wynonna Judd, Stevie Wonder and Tom Jones, the Temptations and Jeff Beck. Walden has been sought out by scores of artists as a creative catalyst, and he created the breakthrough hits for superstars Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. He has earned equal acclaim as a recording and performing artist in his own right, beginning with his stint as part of the pioneering Mahavishnu Orchestra in the early '70s, through 11 acclaimed solo albums and numerous appearances at the top of the pop and R&B charts. He has done groundbreaking soundtrack work on such smash films as The Bodyguard and Stuart Little to the Emmy®-winning song "One Moment In Time" — the theme to the 1988 Olympic Games. Walden owns Marin County-based Tarpan Studios and recently launched the label Tarpan Records. He continues to perform, produce, compose, and develop new talent, releasing the debut album from acclaimed new vocalist Naomi Striemer, whose debut single "Cars" features special guest Carlos Santana. Walden is simultaneously hard at work on an eagerly awaited new solo album, highlighting a stellar lineup of friends and fellow musicians including Chris Botti, Clarence Clemons, Sting and many others.

L.A. Guns - Adam Hamilton's Departure

News Source: www.myspace.com/lagunsnet

Dear friends it is with enormous regret we announce the departure of our good friend Adam Hamilton. Adam has been offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to pursue his dreams as a producer. From this point on he will become a full time studio rat chained to a recording console but I suspect he will still wear a bit of eyeliner. Adam we wish you well mate, you have stuck with us through very good and a few extraordinary bad times, you will always be a brother and we all thank you for the amazing music you have contributed, Thank you for your commitment to the band and the fans, its been nothing but pleasure touring the world with you, Your sharp sense of humor that got us thru some very sketchy times will be missed. You can show off all those backstage laminates with pride in your studio and know that you are the very essence of rock and roll and a lifetime behind a mixing board will never take that away from you.

We all eagerly look forward to the sonic delights you are soon to create and give you and your family our blessings and want you to know you will always be a part of our LAGuns family.

New Design!

Mar.28th.2007 - Wednesday

It has been a long road for this new website design. Our inspiration for change came soon after our "Best Of '06 Awards" were unveiled. Many of you wrote in saying you liked how that website section was designed. That put our brains into overdrive as we set out looking for a brand new website design. After searching for what seemed like forever, we came across this design by Matthew McGee and ran with it. After some tweaking and additional graphics, work began on our new vision. Unfortunately we had a major mishap a few weeks ago as one of our main computers decided to "retire" so to speak. But sometimes a negative can be turned around to a positive. Soon after our meltdown we grabbed our new inspiration and finished what you see on the screen now. Of course some sections are not updated and this is because we've chosen to move forward. All sections that are from 2006 and past will not be updated to this new website look and feel. All 2007 sections such as interviews & reviews will be updated as well as any main toolbar page.

As you can see the sidebar on the right hand side of the screen contains a few new items but also some that are crossed out. The crossed out sections are closed because we are still adding items to them. The new sections included are "Upcoming Releases" & "Touring Information." Upcoming Releases will contain a list of discs and their release dates so that way you do not have to go through our past news section looking for release dates. Currently the "Upcoming Releases" section has very little, that will change in the coming weeks. Touring Information will contain a list of bands that are our tour, weather it is summer/fall/winter/etc. Band names and website links will be provided so that it is easier to find when and where you can listen to live music.

Items that still need to be edited or added: Media Page will host our downloadable magazine as well as our podcast/radio show. This section will be closed until we are satisfied with the upcoming downloads. The Articles section should be online by the end of the week and will contain a few of the articles we've posted in the past, more will be added soon enough. The main Reviews page will be changed over to this new website design in another week.

The addition of "History Island" will be another lengthy journey but our goal is to have it opened by mid-summer. It will feature a few write-ups about pieces in world history that many may not know about or have chosen to forget for some reason.

As you can see there are no Ad's on the website once again. I want to make this clear because some have written in asking when we will put ad's on the website like all the other music sites out there. First off any other site that chooses to put ad's on their site is their own personal choice and thus we will not rip anyone for doing that. Secondly we will not put ad's on this website as we find them tacky and unprofessional. The only thing that you could consider an Ad would be our link to the Firefox 2 browser. But that is a product we believe in and we make no money on that link.

As always we appreciate everyone who has come along on this journey with us. Thanks to all of you who continue to believe in what we do. There is a way to make music better and together we can make changes!
