Skye Sweetnam - Sound Soldier

Skye Sweetnam released her debut album "Noise From The Basement" in
2004, not to mention she was the opening act for Britney Spears at that
time. Fast forward to 2007, Skye returns with "Sound Soldier", a
collection of 12 brand new pop tunes.
So what makes this album different from her debut? For starters the disc
is being released in Canada only (Presently), through EMI Canada.
Promotion wise, there's been very little word on this disc weather it be
via MySpace, Her Official Website, EMI Canada and so forth. Sound wise
the disc is more or less experimental pop then straight forward pop as
some songs mix different elements in. While it does make the songs
unique, it does bring up the question, why go this direction?
If you live in Canada you can purchase her single "Human" via iTunes.
Look for the full album to drop on October 30th. A worldwide release is
still unknown at this time, as no press release was issued with that
information.

Sabrina Korva - New EP In '08

Sabrina Korva took time out to post an update via
her MySpace page last night. The main focus of this update was to
layout who she has been working with on her upcoming EP. Below are
snippets from her post:
Co-writers include:
Jim Huff (Triumph; Jim also has a 1 album on Billboard right now
with Joe Bonamassa), Derek Schram (Juice), Jason Rowe (Sony UK),
Jackie Carlyle, Mike K and Brennan Barrett.
The EP was produced by Jim Huff, Mike K, Michael Raphael (Neve) and
CJ Eiriksson. Four of the tracks were mixed by CJ Eiriksson, as
well.
CJ Eiriksson also engineered and co-mixed the new Matchbox 20 Album
with Steve Lilywhite.
The EP features a guitar solo by Joe Bonamassa on the song "Hold
Onto Myself" and four of the tracks feature the amazing Randy Cooke
on drums!
Artwork & Mastering are currently being done, stay tuned for an official release date.

The Killers - Sawdust

While waiting for an official press release for this album, we felt best to post the information we could dig up.
Amazon.com - Sawdust includes "All The Pretty Faces" (which was
the b-side of "When You Were Young"); two movie soundtrack tunes, "Shadowplay"
(a Joy Division cover from Control, Anton Corbijn's biopic of Ian
Curtis) and "Move Away" (from Spiderman 3); as well as a cover of Kenny
Rogers & The First Edition's "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town"
(written by Mel Tillis)
The collection will also contain songs which weren't completed for Hot
Fuss and Sam's Town. The Killers recently went back into the studio to
finish the tracks, including "Tranquilize" featuring Rock & Roll Hall of
Famer Lou Reed.
USAToday.com - Two albums into their career, The Killers are
already dusting off the rare stuff.
The prolific Las Vegas rock band has recorded a number of B-sides and
other non-album material over the past three years, including a track
from the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack, Move Away, and a cover of the First
Edition/Johnny Darrell Vietnam War melodrama Ruby, Don't Take Your Love
to Town.
The obscure material will be gathered into an album called Sawdust, set
for Nov. 13 release. A track titled Tranquilize, newly recorded with Lou
Reed, will be promoted to radio in late October. The Killers also plan
to record a Christmas single, Don't Shoot Me, Santa, to benefit Bono's
RED campaign to fight AIDS in Africa. That follows last year's RED
Christmas single by the band, A Great Big Sled. (Neither Christmas
recording will be included on Sawdust.)

Finger Eleven's "Them Vs. You Vs. Me"

Finger Eleven's fourth album on Wind-up Records THEM VS. YOU VS. ME
has delivered the band's second crossover hit with "Paralyzer." The song
achieved the number one position on the Alternative, Active and
Mainstream Rock charts. Subsequently, "Paralyzer" has crossed over to
CHR, where it stands at 22 this week, and is a hit at HAC, where it
continues to move towards the top ten at 16 with a bullet.
In a market where ringtone and ringback tone success is heavily owned by
the urban worlds of rap and hip-hop, the song is an example of where the
mobile and on-line space can help propel the rock genre. An early
indicator of the enormity of the song's popularity came via Verizon
Wireless shortly after the company entered into a distribution deal with
Wind-up Records.
Well before "Paralyzer" began its climb to the top of the charts,
organic interest in Finger Eleven, and the song, emerged from Verizon
Wireless customers. The ringtone / ringback tone began its rise as a
limited time exclusive offering from Verizon Wireless, and as early as
April, 2007 it entered the Top 40 of the mobile leader's chart, well
before the song crossed to pop radio. With continued support, the song
has continued its popularity with Verizon Wireless customers reaching
the top 10 on the Tones What's Hot Chart.

George Harrison's Solo Catalog Goes Digital

Capitol/EMI is proud to announce the digital release
of George Harrison's solo catalog. Nine albums have initially been
made available and the remainder will follow online in 2008. The
release of these albums makes all four Beatles' solo catalogs
digitally available.
Harrison's EMI catalog will be available in digital form for the
first time on a global basis. Fans will be able to purchase
Harrison's catalog works from all of EMI's digital distribution
partners, and the titles will also be part of EMI's premium download
offering (free of digital rights management and in a higher-quality
bit rate) from participating retailers.
The following albums are now digitally available:
-- All Things Must Pass (2001 remaster)
Harrison's first release following the break-up of The Beatles in
1970, this multimillion selling set included the worldwide hits "My
Sweet Lord," "What Is Life" and Bob Dylan's "If Not For You." This
album was remastered in 2001 and now includes five additional tracks
not present on the original release.
-- Thirty Three & 1/3 (2004 remaster) This was Harrison's first
album for his own Dark Horse label and was released in 1976.
Includes the hits "This Song" and "Crackerbox Palace." The 2004
remaster includes "Tears Of The World" as an extra track.
-- George Harrison (2004 remaster)
From 1979, this release contains the hits "Blow Away" and "Faster."
It also contains "Not Guilty," a song that Harrison wrote during the
1968 Beatles "White Album" sessions. A demo version of "Here Comes
The Moon" is also included in the 2004 remaster.
-- Somewhere In England (2004 remaster)
Harrison's third album for Dark Horse included the hit "All Those
Years Ago," a tribute to John Lennon. The 2004 remaster includes a
demo version of "Save The World" as an additional track.
-- Gone Troppo (2004 remaster)
Released in 1982, this album includes "That's The Way It Goes" and a
remake of a song that Harrison first demoed in 1968, "Circles." The
2004 remaster includes, as an extra track, a demo version of
"Mystical One."
-- Cloud Nine (2004 remaster)
Cloud Nine from 1987 saw Harrison team up with Jeff Lynne, and the
resulting album put George back in the charts. "Got My Mind Set On
You" became a smash and with two other successful singles, "When We
Was Fab" and "This Is Love," the album became a best seller. The
2004 remaster also includes the additional tracks "Shanghai
Surprise" and "Zig Zag."
-- Live In Japan (2004 remaster)
Recorded during dates in Tokyo and Osaka in 1991, this double set
features Harrison playing some of his finest Beatles and solo works.
With a band including Steve Ferrone, Ray Cooper and Eric Clapton,
George rocks through "Taxman," "Something," "While My Guitar Gently
Weeps," "Here Comes The Sun," "Isn't It A Pity," "My Sweet Lord" and
"Roll Over Beethoven," among a total of 19 great songs.
-- Brainwashed
Brainwashed was Harrison's final album of new material and was
released in 2002, one year after his passing. A wonderful album that
features "Stuck Inside A Cloud," "Any Road," "Rising Sun" and the
Grammy winning "Marwa Blues."
-- Living In The Material World (2006 remaster, previously available
but now added to iTunes).
Originally released in 1973, this album spent five weeks at #1 on
the U.S. album charts. Includes the single "Give Me Love (Give Me
Peace On Earth)," also a U.S. # 1. The 2006 remaster includes two
additional tracks previously released as single B sides.
Olivia Harrison said of the releases, "It is exciting that George's
catalog is finally available for downloading. He had begun the
digital remastering of his albums but had no idea how the digital

Ashley Tisdale - The Story Of Headstrong

Warner Bros. Records will release "There's Something
About Ashley: The Story of Headstrong," a DVD that gives fans an
intimate peek into the life of singer and actress Ashley Tisdale, on
November 6th. The hour-long DVD features behind-the-scenes footage
of Tisdale as she recorded and promoted her debut album
"Headstrong," as well as her travels with last year's nationwide
"High School Musical" tour and also includes the music videos for "Headstrong's

Bruce Springsteen Hits VH1 Classic

fans new series, performances, interviews and videos of New Jersey's own
in celebration of his critically acclaimed new album, "Magic" (Columbia

Don't Stop Believin' (Featuring Deen Castronovo)

Current Journey drummer, Deen Castronovo takes a crack at the Journey classic "Don't Stop Believin'. The Hitmaker's have released four remixes of the classic tune which feature Deen on lead vocals. The remixes are done more or less as "dance mixes" but the "Acoustic Soul" mix, which can only be purchased on iTunes should be a hit with fans of Deen.
So for those wondering what Deen would sound like on this Journey tune, studio wise, now is the time to check out this collection. This is the closest fans will probably get to the real thing. My recommendation, checkout iTunes and purchase the "Acoustic Soul" mix, there's some bumps in it but overall it was fun to hear Deen take on the track.

Lenny Kravitz "It Is Time For A Love Revolution"

Lenny Kravitz says it's time for a revolution and he is launching a
musical movement to do just that with the release of his 8th studio
album on February 5, 2008. The album, entitled It Is Time For A Love
Revolution (Virgin Records America), is Kravitz's first new release in
over three years; the record is a thunderous rock 'n roll call-to- arms,
featuring a universal blend of soul, funk, and jazz grooves and the
undeniable anthemic lyricism that's been his trademark from day one.

Elton 60 - Live At Madison Square Garden

Elton John celebrated his 60th birthday
on March 25th this year by making his 60th appearance at Madison
Square Garden in New York in front of 20,000 fans.
Sir Elton's 60th show at the legendary venue featured special
appearances by Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg and ended with an
emotional rendition of "Your Song." During the three-hour plus show
he paid tribute to John Lennon, who famously joined him on stage at
the Garden in November 1974 in what turned out to be former Beatle's
last concert performance before his death. Sir Elton's long-time
songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin, led the crowd in singing Happy
Birthday to him, as a basketball shirt-style banner reading "Elton
60" was unveiled in his honour at the venue.
This much in demand performance is now to be made available on DVD,
along with extra footage, and was released on October 2nd. The
two-disc package features all 33 songs on the 2007 Madison Square
Garden set list, including classics such as "Your Song," "Crocodile
Rock" and "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" and rare live
cuts including the appropriately named opener, "Sixty Years On,"
plus "Madman Across the Water," "Ballad of a Well-Known Gun" and
"Roy Rogers."
The DVD set will also be loaded with special extra features,
including a wealth of "Live, Rare and Unseen" concert tracks, such
as a 1970 version of "Border Song" from Swiss television, BBC
renditions of "Tiny Dancer" and "Levon" from 1971, and a mini-set of
selected "New York Stories" performances culled from Elton's
seemingly endless catalogue of live performances in NY and album
tracks that mention the Big Apple.
To coincide with the release of his 60th birthday celebration DVD,
Elton John will premier his awesome Caesar's Palace Red Piano show
for the first time ever outside of Las Vegas at London's O2 Arena on
the 5th of September. Elton John has sold over 250 million records

10th Anniversary of Denver's Death Marked by the Release

The Family of John Denver are marking the 10th anniversary of his
untimely death with the release of 2 hours of rare concert recordings
which have never been released to the public. The two CD set, produced
by seven time Grammy(R) Winner and John's friend Roger Nichols, is
scheduled for release on Tuesday, 10/25/07 - by AAO Music - The home of
REALITY - in conjunction with John's brother Ron Deutschendorf.
John Denver's 1985 tour of the Soviet Union was historic for many
reasons and also paved the way for other American artists to perform in
the Soviet Union. The eleven concerts were performed at various venues
throughout the country and each performance was recorded on a custom
digital recorder. The tapes, re-discovered in 2002, have been restored,
remixed and mastered for this CD set by seven time Grammy(R) winner
Roger Nichols.
"It is always an exciting experience to take part in the production of
what will be a classic album," said Peter G. Kuys, Chairmen of AAO

"This record showcases John's tremendous talent; and it is an honor for

With over two hours of music including John's greatest hits as well as

-- VH1 Rock Doc "The U.S. vs. John Lennon," at 4:00 PM*, tells the
story of John Lennon's transformation from beloved musical artist to

story of the U.S. Government's efforts to deport him. This
feature-length documentary, by filmmakers David Leaf and John
Scheinfeld, has the support and cooperation of Yoko Ono. The film
covers the period of 1966-1976 and includes rare and unique
audio/visual archival material. "The U.S. vs. John Lennon," also
shows that this was not just an isolated episode in American history
but that the issues and struggles of that era remain relevant today.
-- "John and Yoko's Year of Peace," premiering at 8:00 PM* focuses
on the year 1969. While headlines blare war and civil unrest John
Lennon and Yoko Ono are in love and have just gotten married. And
they want to change the world. Lying in a hotel bed surrounded by

Van Halen - Opening Night Success

With a blazing and defiant guitar run, rock legends VAN HALEN lit the
torch on the opening night of one of the most highly anticipated tours
in rock history. More than 18,000 fans, including those lining the
rafters, stood on their feet at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, as original
lead vocalist David Lee Roth took the stage with the band. It was a
celebration more than 22 years in the making.
"For more than two hours, the gods delivered," writes Rolling Stone
magazine's Mark Kemp. Guitar innovator Eddie Van Halen, his drum legend
brother Alex, and Eddie's 16-year-old son Wolfgang on bass joined Roth
for the festivities, breathing new, invigorated life into a jaw-dropping
canon of material.
The Hollywood Reporter noted, "for one perfect night in Charlotte, Van
Halen was nothing short of spectacular."
The blistering delivery of hit after hit played out like the soundtrack
to countless sun-drenched summers and a wealth of more to come. Starting
with the familiar strains of the band's groundbreaking interpretation of
the Kinks' "You Really Got Me," VAN HALEN weaved in and out of its
catalog, pairing iconic anthems like "Jump," "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love"
and "Panama" along with other fan favorites including "Runnin' With The
Devil" and "Jamie's Cryin'." All of this was delivered amid a myriad of
fanning laser lights, an earth rumbling onslaught of sound and a
stage-spanning screen perfect for capturing Eddie Van Halen's intricate
fret work. Roth, who Rolling Stone describes as evolving with "style,
grace and his eternally smart sense of flamboyant irony," pranced and
preened like a possessed flamenco hitting the notes with a power and
precision like never before.
Jim Farber of the New York Daily News cites Eddie Van Halen as
displaying his innovative style at the top of his game. "More than 25
years since he first pioneered his two-hands-on-the-fretboard approach,"
Farber wrote, "Eddie remains a technical wonder. Again, last night he
did loop-do-loops around the melodies, and peeled into wheelies in the
choruses."
USA Today reporter Mike Snider says Alex Van Halen, armed with sticks
and pulse thumping grit, "continued to stoke the ban's fire." And
Rolling Stone recalls that the headband-shrouded arsenalist "pounded his
kit with a constant smile."
All eyes were on Wolfgang Van Halen who, according to Jane Stevenson of
the Toronto Sun, "displayed a confidence and musicianship well beyond
his age, even venturing out on the band's S-shaped catwalk by himself to
get closer to the crowd." Wolfgang's spirited delivery echoes the
timeless youthfulness found in the band today and tomorrow. The cradle
will rock, indeed.
Up to the show's sparkling confetti-laden encore, VAN HALEN "filled the
arena with hard rock energy rarely generated since, well, the band's
previous forays," says USA Today.

LYNAM have just put up 3 new songs on their Myspace page from their
fourth coming album "Tragic City Symphony". You can check them out

"Tragic City Symphony" was produced by Jason Elgin (MAYLENE AND THE
SONS OF DISASTER, COLLECTIVE SOUL), and was mixed by Jason Elgin,

NICKS) The new album also features guest appearances by the band

Lynam's last album "Slave to the Machine", was released in 2006

buzz well before the release of their debut album KISS OR KILL. A
sexy, behind-the-scenes look at their triple X-rated video shoot for
“Baby, Baby, Baby (Baby x3)” (a track from their debut album),
filmed by NGTV (No Good TV), was the #1 Most Viewed video on YouTube
with nearly 500,000 views in one day alone. The footage documents
the backstage antics of the band and their scantily-clad video
co-stars – check it out here.
Although at the very beginning of their career, the EndeverafteR
live show is so impressive that it has won them opening slots for
rock legends such as KISS, Poison and Cinderella. The band will hit
the road as support for the Fuel/Trapt co-headlining tour in
mid-October (see below for tour dates). EndeverafteR’s debut album
KISS OR KILL is due out on October 30th, with first single “I Wanna
Be Your Man” shipping to rock radio earlier in the month.
