● GNR VS Eagles (Round 1):
The following information was taken from MTV.com:
The Eagles of Death Metal probably hadn't gotten the mustache wax
unpacked from their suitcases before their maiden voyage on the S.S. Axl
Rose hit an iceberg Friday. On the first night of what was supposed to
be a three-week stint opening up for Guns N' Roses, the band was
unceremoniously dumped from the bill after a chilly reception from the
audience at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
Following a well-received set by tour opener Sebastian Bach, the Eagles
took the stage and, according to John Soeder, pop critic for the
Cleveland Plain Dealer, the band was met with "not deafening boos, but
lots of grumbling and grousing and ... indifference."
While a handful of people were dancing along to the Eagles' good-time,
sleazy garage rock, Soeder said it appeared as if the majority of the
audience was not into it and was even a bit confused by the group.
(Queens of the Stone Age singer/guitarist Josh Homme is a member of the
Eagles, although he rarely tours with them and did not perform at Friday
night's show.)
After a two-hour wait for the headliners, Rose came out and promptly
dissed the Eagles, asking the audience, "So how'd you like the Pigeons
of Sh-- Metal? Don't worry, that's the last show they're playing with
us." And, just like that, the Eagles were tossed out of the nest.
The Eagles took the Rose kiss-off with their usual fistful of salt. "At
first the audience refused to welcome us to the jungle, but by the time
we took our final bow, it had become paradise city," reads a statement
from the band released on Monday (November 27). "Although Axl tried to
November rain on our parade, no sweet child o' mine can derail the EODM
night train. We say live and let die."

● Danny Vaughn - Traveller:
We mentioned about a month ago that Danny was working on a new studio disc. Thanks to Frontiers Records Newsletter we now have the full details:
Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of
DANNY VAUGHN's new album "Traveller" on February 16th 2007
"Traveller is the best album of my career", proudly states Danny Vaughn.
And that's quite a challenge if you consider the high calibre of his
musical output over the years.
Coming out of nowhere, he became the lead singer of WAYSTED in 1986 and
released the band's most highly acclaimed album, "Save Your Prayers". He
learned his trade by opening up for IRON MAIDEN in stadiums and arenas
around the world. From there, Danny formed the now legendary group,
TYKETTO, in 1990 and released "Don't Come Easy", still regarded today as
a benchmark in the Melodic Rock genre. Moving from strength to "Strength
In Numbers" was a powerful follow up, but even with 150,000 albums sold,
3 videos and countless tours under his belt, the disappointing changes
in the music industry in the mid 90's soon led Danny to, unhappily,
leave the band.
In 1999 Danny reunited with former TYKETTO companions: Michael Clayton
Arbeeny and Jaimie Scott, to release two very well received albums,
"Soldiers And Sailors On Riverside" and "Fearless", under the band name
VAUGHN. These were Danny's songs, done in his own style and he was
writing better than ever.
In 2003, Danny was approached by Frontiers Records with the idea of
releasing a project-record more in the classic Melodic Rock vein, using
songs from other writers as well as some of his own. Produced by
Fabrizio Grossi, the album FROM THE INSIDE was heralded as a major
triumph and a return to the style for which Danny is best known.
So, with all of that, and more to his credit, how could he be so
confident in the new album, "Traveller"?
Best to hear it from the man himself: "After several meetings with
Frontiers, we all agreed that my next album had to be not only a classic
melodic sound, but also a step forward, and it had to be very special.
By this time, I had done a couple of years of touring with an all
English band, which featured a twin guitar attack, and much heavier
sound than I had been known for before. This was well received by
audiences all over the UK and Europe, so I had the task of working on
songs that reflected that new, live attitude. The band, Tony Marshall
(CONTAGIOUS) and Pat Heath (BRAVE NEW WORLD) on guitars, Steve McKenna
(TEN) on bass and Lee Morris (PARADISE LOST) on drums, took up the
challenge of not only recreating our on stage fire, but recording an
album with a very layered and full production. So many of these songs
allowed me, as singer, writer and producer to try a lot of ideas that I
always had in mind and the result is a monster! While a ll the elements
of my usual song writing style are there, there is much less of a
reliance on acoustic instruments than on previous albums. Yes, there are
still a couple of acoustic songs (it wouldn't be me without them) but,
the number of fast paced rockers is much higher than I have done before.
I can't wait to play these songs live as they are born to be performed
on stage! Clocking in at an hour long, it has a little bit of everything
that has come before, and some brand new ideas all in one package. It
takes you from place to place, from mood to mood, seamlessly, and we are
all extremely excited to have our fans hear it."
"Traveller" is set for release on February 16th 2007 on Frontiers
Records with a Japanese release to happen on King Records.
Final tracklisting of the album will include the following songs:
Miracle Days; Badlands Rain; Traveller; Restless Blood; That's What She
Says; The Touch of Your Hand; Lifted; The Warrior's Way; The Measure of
a Man; Think of Me In The Fall; Death of The Tiger; Better By Far.
Under the new name, "DANNY VAUGHN", the new line-up recently played a
storming performance at the UNITED FORCES OF ROCK Festival in
Ludwigsburg, Germany in October 2006 and introduced 3 of the new songs
to a wildly receptive audience. Judging by the crowd's reaction, and the
reaction of the 30 or so journalists that got a 5 song sneak preview
before the show, this album is going to be on a lot of people's "Best
of" list for 2007. Watch out for DANNY VAUGHN live, to come crashing
into a town near you!

● Billy Joel - 2007 North American Tour:
The legendary entertainer Billy Joel will perform a series of North American concert dates in February and March 2007 (see full itinerary following). Tickets for all dates will go on sale Saturday, December 2, at 10am (EST).
Currently in the midst of a concert tour of Australia, Japan, and
Hawaii, Billy Joel continues breaking sales and attendance records
around
the world. "No American artist has performed to more Australians than
Joel," wrote Australia's The Age (theage.com.au), "and over the next few
weeks he will perform before another 100,000 people around the country."
A
review of Billy's concert at the Acer Arena in Sydney led with the
observation that "According to his promoter, Frontier Touring, Billy
Joel
has sold more tickets for shows in the past 12 months than any other
artist, including U2."
In April 2006, Billy Joel broke the Madison Square Garden record for
the longest sequence of sold-out shows by a single artist. At the
twelfth
show of his sold-out run, Madison Square Garden celebrated the event in
true New York style, raising a banner to the venue's rafters emblazoned
with "#12," the number of Billy's consecutive SRO performances. As

From the Ashes of Acceptance rises the
beautiful fiery phoenix of THUNDER THUNDER.
5 months and 1500 miles later the new band is ready to rock. The band

JFK 43 Years Ago & Lennon Today:
The assassination of John F. Kennedy, the thirty-fifth President of the
United States, took place on Friday, November 22, 1963, in Dallas,
Texas, USA at 12:30 p.m. CST (18:30 UTC). Kennedy was fatally wounded by
gunshots while riding with his wife in a presidential motorcade through
Dealey Plaza. He was the fourth U.S. President to be assassinated and
the eighth to die while in office.
An official investigation by the Warren Commission was conducted over a
10-month period, and its report was published in September 1964. The
Commission concluded that the assassination was carried out solely by
Lee Harvey Oswald, an employee of the Texas School Book Depository in
Dealey Plaza. This conclusion initially met with widespread support
among the American public, but polling in recent years shows a majority
of that public now hold beliefs contrary to the Commission's findings. A
later official investigation by the House Select Committee on
Assassinations (HSCA) was conducted from 1976 to 1979, and it concluded
that Kennedy was assassinated by Oswald "probably... as a result of a
conspiracy". The assassination is still the subject of widespread
speculation, and has spawned a number of Kennedy assassination theories.

Musician George Michael Wants Image to
Commemorate Peace; First Time Piano
has Left United Kingdom
WHAT: The famous piano on which John Lennon composed "Imagine" in 1971
has been shipped to the United States by superstar musician George
Michael
as the centerpiece of a specially curated photography exhibition
(opening
to the public on December 5) at Goss Gallery (http://www.gossgallery.com)
celebrating peace. This is the first time the piano has left the United
Kingdom.
George Michael and his partner, Kenny Goss, Goss Gallery owner, plan to
have the piano photographed at significant sites to help spread the
message of
peace. The Dallas site is the first location in this project and the
photo
will be taken at 12:30 pm (CST) to commemorate President John Kennedy's
legacy.

BACKGROUND:
George Michael bought the piano on which John Lennon composed
"Imagine," considered the most expensive piece of pop memorabilia, at an
auction in October 2000 reportedly for 1.45m pounds Sterling (US$2.1
million).
The song, Imagine, was first released in 1971 and was already John
Lennon's most famous post-Beatles song, but it took on a whole new life
of
its own following Lennon's murder in December 1980. When first released,
"Imagine" reached No. 3 in America and No. 6 in Britain but after
Lennon's
death in December 1980, the song gave him a posthumous No. 1.
Lennon bought the piano in December 1970, had it delivered to studios
at his home in Tittenhurst Park in Berkshire, composed and recorded
"Imagine" on it. The piano is a simple upright style instrument, not the
white piano which graced the cover of the album. In 1992, it was bought
by
a private British collector who put it up for auction in October 2000.
Imagine Exhibit
The work of three photographers, Don McCullin, Gabriele Basilico, Tomas
Munita, that have confronted themselves with war zones will accompany
the
piano display at Goss Gallery in Dallas, along with the "Gimme Some
Truth"
video of John Lennon playing the song for the first time to wife Yoko
Ono
and the Plastic Ono Band.
The show will premiere in Dallas on December 5 and continue through
January 13, 2007. Plans call for a tour of the exhibition throughout the
United States and Europe with a schedule of venues to be announced in
the
near future.
Goss Gallery is a leading contemporary modern art gallery and is owned
by George Michael's long-time partner, Kenny Goss. Michael and Goss
conceived the show to underline their belief in delivering a theme of
world
peace to the people who will see the art, using the notoriety of the
piano
to draw attention to that message. Goss Gallery Director and Curator
Filippo Tattoni-Marcozzi carefully selected the photographers and images
for the "Imagine" show, matching the emotions of the art with the
overriding theme of peace.
In conjunction with the show, six images of the piano, each in a
limited edition print series signed by the photographer, will be
available
through Goss Gallery. The images were taken by the United Kingdom's
noted
celebrity photographer, Richard Young, who has photographed iconic stars
in
stage, screen and music (www.richardyoungonline.com).
A collector's edition catalogue of the show
(US$30 plus postage and handling) will also be available for sale
exclusively through the gallery with net proceeds,
estimated to be 60% of the cover price, to benefit amfAR(TM), The
Foundation for AIDS Research (www.amfar.org).
Goss Gallery: Founded by Dallas native Kenny Goss, Goss Gallery

in

● VH1 Classics Christmas:
They call him Father Christmas. We call him Santa Claus. But the U.K. shares the same holiday spirit with the U.S., which VH1 Classic will reveal in December when it unwraps two BBC specials never-before-seen in the States, starring Rod Stewart and The Kinks.
Taken from the BBC series "Old Grey Whistle Test," the "Rod Stewart
Christmas Concert" features one of England's most successful singers
headlining a Christmas Eve 1976 special at London's Olympia Theatre. The
one- hour show debuts on VH1 Classic on Thursday, December 21 at 8:00
PM.
Stewart performs a number of his hits as well as some rock and pop
classics including "Tonight's The Night," "Maggie May," "Losing You,"
"Get
Back," "This Old Heart of Mine," "The Wild Side of Life," "Sweet Little
Rock 'n' Roller," "The Killing Of Georgie," "Sailing" and "I Don't Want
To
Talk About It."
VH1 Classic presents one of the U.K.'s longest-running rock success
stories, The Kinks on Thursday, December 7 at 10:00 PM during "The Kinks
Christmas Concert." Caught live at the Rainbow Theater in London on
Christmas Eve 1977, The Kinks tear through many of their classic songs
including "Lola," "Sleepwalker," "Life On The Road," "Well Respected
Man,"
"Death Of A Clown," "Sunny Afternoon," "Waterloo Sunset," "All Day And
All
Of The Night," "Slum Kids," "Celluloid Heroes" and "Get Back In The
Line."
The group also gives a rousing rendition on their holiday classic
"Father
Christmas" with Paul Davies' donned as Santa Claus.
"UK Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony" Toplines VH1 Classic
Thanksgiving VH1 Classic will present the U.S. premiere of the extended
version of "The Third Annual UK Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony"
on Friday,
November 24 at 8:00 PM. Artists honored include Brian Wilson, Led
Zeppelin,
Prince, Rod Stewart, Dusty Springfield, Bon Jovi and James Brown as well
as
legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin who is receiving this
year's
Honorary Membership in recognition of his exceptional contribution to
British music. The UK Music Hall of Fame is produced by Initial (part of

● Velvet Revolver - Libertad (Island Report):
It was officially announced yesterday that Velvet Revolver have begun recording their follow-up album to "Contraband." The disc according the band will be called "Libertad." Dumb name? Not really, the Spanish translation is "Freedom." Look for this disc to be released by mid 2007. From earlier reports Rick Rubin was signed to produce this new album. But recently that information has gone cold.

Katharine McPhee - 3 Songs Leaked? WRONG! (Island
Exclusive Report):
Yet another fabricated story by people who are simply uninformed. Over
the weekend SNIPPETS of 3 songs were placed on a promotional website.
The purpose was to simply receive some feedback about Katharine's
upcoming material.
But like all made up story's there's always some completely crazy addition. Within 2hr's of the song snippets being put up (for streaming only) fan sites, blogs and yes even RCA had news of a Katharine McPhee "leak" as they are calling it.
We're here to let people know that this is not a "LEAK." What we have here is a case of people being informed and fed the wrong information. What does one do if material isn't exactly amazing? Well lets see, someone could make up a story of a "LEAK" to stir up some free publicity. Sound familiar?
I've mentioned this term before on the site & I'll probably end up mentioning it again the future. "STREAM RIPPING" How did stream only song snippets end up as mp3's on fan sites & blogs? That's easy, by recording the stream as it plays through one's computer. I understand not many people know what I'm talking about. Even some artists have no idea about this technology. Case in point, Katharine herself posted the following on her MySpace page yesterday:
Hey everyone. Yes it's kat again. I'm
sneaking a blog to you guys so be hush hush and get my back. I know that
you guys heard my 3 songs leaked. Believe it or not I was just as
surprised as you to see them on the internet. My label neglected to tell
me they were doing so. But that's okay. But listen, I need you guys to
vote for your favorite song because they are testing to see how they do.
And don't worry for those of you who don't like any of them...have no
fear there is a lot more. And it's okay to be honest... Soooo I'm going
to be honest myself as much as I can without being too bold. Here's the
hush part...my fav is Open Toes!!! HEHEHEHE

Since Kat and her lovely label have given their blessing, everyone can simply go to Kat's street team's myspace page to listen to the 3 snippets. www.myspace.com/katpackstreetteam I love how even on this page they are available only as online streams. I wonder if there will be yet another leak. OH NO!
What you'll find is that out of the 3 clips only 1 is even worth listening to again. So the over-reaction by Kat, her label and tons of blogs & fan sites is simply to stir up more support for her upcoming release.
Normally these sort of story's just slip by and we choose not to comment. But in a case like this where it is fairly obvious that it is a ploy to sell more albums we had to bring this information to everyone's attention.
This is how sick labels are these days, they stage leaks in order to gain public interest. If this was 1986 these things would not occur because back then labels actually cared about their artists and how to promote them properly. But we're a long way gone from the good old times. - Tony

Jon Bon Jovi & Kenneth Cole will visit the Today Show this morning to discuss their new partnership, which will benefit HELP USA and the Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation. Together, JBJ & KC have designed a collection of limited edition jackets that arrive in stores right after Thanksgiving. Kenneth Cole is also launching a new men’s fragrance called R.S.V.P.
