Best Of 2004 Awards

Shipwreck Island Studios: Best of 2004

Well another year has come and gone, here's our salute to the best in 04. This year we are prepared, the site will not go down because of bandwidth uses. Since we went .COM in 2004 we no longer have that problem.

This was an extremely hard process as there were a lot of great releases in 2004 and it is difficult to cover every album or DVD released this year but the ones listed here are without a doubt the best that 2004 had to offer. (At least in our opinions)

The end result is sure to please, and all the CDs/DVDs on this list come highly recommended by Shipwreck Island Studios.

So until The Best of 2005, enjoy! - Tony and Jere

Best Of 2004 (Complete List):

This year we went with a different approach, we decided to show everyone our separate picks and then list the overall picks. We felt that this was necessary because it shows that we don't agree on every album but if their close we compromise. The overall pick's were chosen based on the ranking given by each person.

Lost Reviews Of 2004:

Through the year we tried our best to get the reviews out there that people would enjoy to read. We did miss some that we really wanted to put up, but with concerts and taking pictures all over the place it was tough to complete things. So here's our chance to put up short blurbs and scores for reviews we just didn't get time to put up.

Misc. Best Of 2004 Awards:

Last year we had a couple sections dedicated to some misc. things that we felt would be appealing to others. Well here they are again, little different then last year but still just as fun.

Best Movie Score Of 2004:

Star Wars:
Trilogy (6 Disc Set)

No this wasn't a new score, nor did it include mountains of unreleased tracks. But what it does have is a nice poster for the booklet as well as the very cool 3d cd cover. The box was a great addition as it matches perfectly with the DVD box. The best part I found was that each disc is remastered in Sony DSD making the music extremely clean. Basically this is a must buy for any collector out there simply because the cleanliness of the whole collection.

Honorable Mentions:

               Hero                         Day After Tomorrow

Best Comedy DVD of 2004:

Conan's 10th Anniversary

Conan had a huge year with funny acts such as Walker Texas Ranger, Bush & Arnold and who can forget Vomiting Kermit. But one of the best shows he had this year was poking fun at himself by doing an infomercial. Promoting his own DVD as well as Triumph's but at the same time really just making it an hour of non-stop laughter. None of that is on the DVD but the things that are, are simply some of his best work from his 10 years on the air. It was announced that Conan will take over the Tonight Show in 2009. Congrat's Conan!

Honorable Mentions:

Best of Triumph
Bill Cosby: Himself
Rich Vos: Vos
