Pete Loran - Trixter / Solo Artist:

With the 80's we had amazing rock albums left and right being released. In the early 90's it was nothing but the same. After checking stacks and stacks of our favorite bands albums, we came across a band that we have always loved, Trixter. We put the albums in and were instantly taken back to the early 90's. We then wondered, what is the lead singer of Trixter Pete Loran up to now? Well then, lets just ask the man himself.

Pete Loran the vocalist of Trixter is one of the best rock vocalists of all time. From his soft ballads to his rip roar'n rockers, Pete can do it all and does it with style. With new things on the horizon, we can assure you Rock Is Far From Dead.

Pete recently took time out of his busy schedule to share some information with Shipwreck Island Studios and here is what he had to say....

Island: Out of all the material you've written which song is your favorite to perform?

Pete:
I really can't think of a song that I can get into more than "Be Of This Time" it just takes me away......

Island: What type of things do you do to keep your voice in top form?

Pete:
Funny you ask....what things SHOULD I do.....cause I don't and I need to....doing this recent Trixter stuff proved that..

Island: What one piece of advice would you give to someone looking to go into the music business?

Pete:
If all you care about is the music, you may want to reconsider...cause it's all business!

Island: With the exception of the new Trixter live album, are there any other projects that you are currently working on?

Pete: Yes, I'm working on doing a song for a Christian Rock Label.....with lots of famous singers.....more info to come.

Island: What albums have been in your cd player lately?

Pete:
Well, I have a lot of CD's that I make myself.....but......been listening to ...new Tesla (Jeff sounds Great) Spiderman 2 soundtrack has my bro Jimmy Gnecco of the band Ours on it...some old school rock..Kiss, Kings X (always)....Tommy Lee.....ummm Squeeze, The Knack.....My Sharona sounds great still...and guitar solo rocks...There is a lot of new stuff that I dig too...Velvet Revolver..and lots of bands that I don't know their names...

Island: We are certainly looking forward to the new album release, how was it going back into the studio and laying down these new tracks with Trixter?

Pete:
It's been a battle for me.. I haven't sang up that high in years... The tracks were recorded almost 9 years ago. I got the tracks on a disc, dropped them into Pro Tools and was on my way.

Island: Any chance of a Trixter Reunion Tour once the album is released?

Pete:
I have heard that question a lot....and it's a really tough one. There would need to be lots of miracles happening to put it simply.

Island: Will the new album be available in stores or online only?

Pete:
I'm guessing online only, but don't hold me to that.

Island: Just goofing around here, when you write material which do you prefer to use Pen or Pencil?

Pete:
Whatever I can find.

Island: Do the new songs mesh with the older Trixter material or do they have a more modern sound after the mix?

Pete:
I think they sound a lot like the material on the second record...

Island: What 2 individuals in the music world would you most like to collaborate with for either song writing or to make a band and why?

Pete:
This is a very hard question... I have always loved Stevie Ray.... I would just sit there and listen to him play... I don't know if we would collaborate well.... wish I could have seen him at least once... Dave Grohl and I would collaborate well I think..... I have a buddy his name is "3" he was on the last Tommy Lee tour (guitar)... we have collaborated over the years but never had a band together.. that would have been very cool if we could have made that happen!

Island: Thanks Pete for taking the time to check out Shipwreck Island Studios.com any parting words for our visitors and your fans?
